Changes to policy regulations allowing recycled content in food-contact packaging and the updates to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) place increasing responsibility on manufacturers to increase collection, recycling, reuse, and use of recycled content in plastic packaging. This created a surge of interest among stakeholders to use rPET. This document aims to encourage manufacturers, convertors, brands and retailers operating in India, and who manufacture or use PET beverage bottles, to use rPET.
