Small formats plastic packaging is used extensively in the Indian market owing to its affordability and accessibility. However, these formats have a high littering potential and are not recycled at scale and is thus one of the predominant driving forces in the plastic pollution crisis. The absence of reliable information on the use of small formats plastic packaging in India led to drafting this report. The report presents consumption patterns of small formats plastic packaging in India, a framework to improve the management of small formats and sachet waste and uses the framework to identify possible interventions and focus areas.
